Praise our gratitude for the presence of Allah SWT, for His blessings and mercy. Again, we can present the latest article in the Journal of Pharmaceutical and Sciences (JPS) Volume 4 Number 1 Edition January - June 2021. Shalawat and greetings, let us give to our lord the Great Prophet Muhammad SAW, along with his family, friends, and followers of the Prophet, God willing, including all of us until the end of time. In early 2020, the world experienced great shocks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this did not deter the Journal of Pharmaceutical and Sciences (JPS) 's steps and contributions to increase scientific development in the pharmaceutical field well as the authors who have submitted articles published. In this edition, although there is a decrease in the number of papers sent to editors.

This fourth edition was published in early 2021 when the COVID-19 pandemic began to enter its second wave, and all countries implemented stricter policies to suppress the spread. This edition was published with limitations and decreased the number of articles sent to the editorial desk. This edition was opened with writings from Syiah Kuala university academics with the title Antimicrobial Activity Jangjingki (Oxalis corniculata L.) Against The Growth Of Staphylococcus Aureus, Escherichia Coli, and Candida Albicans, the second article entitled Ethanol Extract Analgesics Activities Of Mahkota Dewa Leaves (Phaleria macrocarpa (Scherff.) Boerl) FOR IN VIVO, the third article Formulation and Evaluation of Edible Film dosage form herbal combination used potatoes starch (Solanum tuberosum L) as a polymer with a variance of sorbitol as plasticizers, the fourth article is a review article of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University academics, this article discusses the Use of Combination Therapy in Malaria Treatment and Prevention in Indonesia. In contrast, the closing article was written by academics from the Haji University of North Sumatra with the title FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF BALM STICK FROM RED GINGER (Zingiber officinale Rosc) OLEORESIN AS MUSCLE AND HINGE PAIN RELIEF.

The issuance of this number was also due to the hard work and attention of many parties; Therefore, the editorial team would like to thank the bestari partners (reviewers) who were willing to provide input to the editor and review existing writings. Thank you to the editors who have also taken the time to create the Pharmaceutical and Science Journal (JPS) to publish well. Hopefully, the articles in this journal can be useful for readers and provide much enlightenment for even better things. Currently, the editorial team and management of the Journal of Pharmaceutical and Sciences are preparing for DOAJ indexing and journal accreditation filing (Sinta) at the end of this year. We hope that the Journal of Pharmaceutical and Sciences can carry out this process well and get good results.

Shalawat and greetings, let us give to our lord the Great Prophet Muhammad SAW, along with his family, friends, and followers of the Prophet, God willing, including all of us until the end of time. This second edition was published at the end of 2020, where the COVID-19 pandemic is still endemic throughout the world, but there has been a bright spot; vaccine testing results have shown very encouraging results. This edition was published with limitations and decreased the number of articles sent to the editorial desk. This edition opened with the presence of two review articles, an article when describing the results of research on Analysis Of Heavy Metal Pollution (Pb) In Lipstick Are For Sale In The City Of Banda Aceh Atom Absorption Spectrophotometry, then the fourth article and fifth article still discusses the activity of compounds natural ingredients tested on bacteria, each taking the title Isolation and Antibacterial Activity Test of The Extract Ethyl Acetate of Endophytic Fungi from Kencur (Kaempferia Galanga L.) and Antibacterial Activity Test of Ethanol Extract from Dried Simplicia Garlic (Allium sativum L. ) Against Bacillus cereus Bacteria, the sixth article which is the closing article in this edition entitled Identification And Determination Of Saponin Levels From Bidurrot Extract (Calotropic gigantea L) Using Gravimetry Method

Special Issue: edisi pertama

It is with pleasure the first issue of Journal of Pharmaceutical and Sciences releases to the academic world which is aimed to accommodate the need of researchers  or scholars in Faculty of pharmacy, University of Tjut Nyak Dhien (UTND) publish their work. Fortunately, in this first issue, the Journal accepted many papers from other researchers outside UTND.

However the possibility in making this journal published is determined by the encouragement and strong decision from the Rector of UTND and also a firm effort of the Faculty of pharmacy and Institute for Research and Community Services. Apart from that, the issuance of the journal is dedicated to the advancement of research and practical knowledge and the simplification for the need of better policy in the field of pharmaceutical, Sciences, and healthcare.

In this first issue, the authors present their critical findings in  various fields that relate to pharmaceutical, analytical chemistry, natural product, pharmacology and food science. Among the topics in this problem is the test of the effectiveness of artocarpusheterophyllus lam flavonoid bark, the use of lard adulteration methods for analysis of halal products, in the social pharmacy field to discuss consumer perception of services pharmacy. in the field of chemistry analysis there are two articles, first discussing the method of analyzing calcium and iron metal in Moringa leaf, while in the second article discusses the determination of phosphorus content in green okra.

The existence of the Journal of Pharmaceutical and Sciences may be able to contribute to the increase in the publication of research results within the university's many pharmaceutical faculties and other institutional institutions outside the university's pharmacy department. We hope that this journal can become a journal occupying the top point in the future. Then, in connection with the publication of this journal, the editor would like to thank the reviewers who have made significant contributions to the journal.
